Loyal Source is looking for a Lead Security Service Technician for an employment opportunity in Roanoke, Virginia.

Summary:

The Lead Technician is responsible for establishing, installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining electronic security systems across various platforms, customer programs, and specialized environments. This includes working with programmable logic controllers (PLC), such as OMRON, and operating in high-security environments such as correctional facilities, jails, and prisons. The role includes system wiring, configuration, and maintenance, ensuring all work is completed to relevant codes and standards.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Program, install, test, troubleshoot, and maintain low voltage electronic security components.
  • Install required cabling, access control, surveillance, and alarm systems.
  • Understand and analyze design documentation and system data to plan and execute installation and maintenance activities.
  • Operate various programs including IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems), ACS (Access Control Systems), CCTV, Alarms, and related technologies.
  • Program, troubleshoot, and maintain PLC systems such as OMRON used in integrated control systems.
  • Work effectively within correctional environments, including jails and prisons, adhering to facility-specific protocols and security requirements.
  • Complete high-quality device and component installation and maintenance activities.
  • Participate in configuration of servers, workstations, panels, and other programmable components.
  • Implement testing to verify high quality installations.
  • Execute testing to identify and correct system problems at component and systems levels as part of sustainment activities.
  • Install system raceway and system cabling.
  • Terminate and test system cabling and all components.
  • Establish status of equipment racks, enclosures, panels, and all mounting hardware components.
  • Perform as a reliable contact for field operations with customer representatives.
  • Build and maintain strong customer and vendor relationships.
  • Adhere to all state and federal laws and regulations regarding safety and health standards.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED, and Technical Certificate (preferred, but not required).
  • Three (3) plus years of relevant work experience required.
  • Certification in PLC systems (OMRON or equivalent) is required.
  • Prior experience working in correctional environments (jails, prisons, detention centers) strongly preferred.
  • Lenel Certification a plus.
  • DMP certification a plus.
  • Current DCJS registration a plus.
