The Clinic Supervisor (Supervisory Certified Medical Assistant) is responsible for oversight of supporting operations and administration for a medical clinic(s). The Clinic Supervisor will help cultivate an environment that achieves the organization’s mission through quality in care, efficiency, and a focus on core values. The Clinic Supervisor will handle the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, and completion of contractual requirements with the end goal of delivering quality experience for the client, provider and communities served. The Clinic Supervisor will report to the Area Manager or to a Clinic manager as directed.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Reporting to the Area Manager or Clinic Manager (as region dictates), the Clinic Supervisor is responsible for successfully managing clinical operations of a MDE clinic.
  • The Clinic Supervisor will provide first-line supervision and time approval for assigned clinic staff.
  • Ensures Examiners deliver high quality services to claimants that comply with VA Healthcare standards as well as with local, state, and federal requirements.
  • Within assigned area implements, supervises/monitors and maintains clinical practice and quality management standards, and competencies/development.
  • In assigned area/function, supervises the operations and delivery of medical disability services.
  • Ensures staff provide the highest quality of care, complying with, the Joint Commission, federal/state/local requirements.
  • Establishes and maintains effective, collaborative relationships with examiners and other departments.
  • Collaborates with multi-disciplinary departments to resolve claimant issues & meet access demands in support of the day-to-day operations of the department.
  • Supervises and maintains claimant care and quality service standards to meet Loyal Source’ and Department of Veteran Affairs’ expectations.
  • Acts as claimant advocate resolving claimant care issues.
  • Conducts inventory on a consistent basis; properly addresses medication (Albuterol) shortages, ordering and stocking.
  • Ensures safety in the clinic by inspecting the emergency kit(s) and assisting with medical emergencies.
  • Checks for expired supplies in the kits.
  • Orders replacement supplies and medications (Albuterol) in a timely manner.
  • Provides training and education on medical emergencies and equipment.
  • Recommends and evaluates processes to improve systems and claimant care results across the continuum of care.
  • Supervises use and maintenance of equipment, supplies and medications (Albuterol).
  • Provides supervision of clinical staff, planning and adjust staffing as needed on a daily basis to maintain safe claimant care and efficient operations.
  • Provides operational accountability for and coordination of diagnostic services.
  • Supervises and monitors the implementation of clinic policies and procedures which support the goals of the department and organization. Assists the Area Managers in implementing policies and procedures.
  • Measures, tracks, and improves internal and external customer satisfaction.
  • Assists in managing and resolving Human Resource, labor relations, employee and department safety, and risk management issues. This one I might take of as this is more along the lines of a Clinic Manager.
  • Ensures all clinic logs are accurate and timely.
  • Clinic logs would include:
  • Automated external defibrillator (AED)
  • Temperature logs (laboratory fridge)
  • Expired medication (Albuterol)
  • Fire extinguisher.
  • As needed for additional item tracking
  • Assist in resolution of administrative and operational issues including the maintenance of clinic property, computer systems and installed software applications.
  • Participate in management or leadership meetings as directed or requested.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
  • Serve as a liaison between site and external agencies.
  • Assists leadership develop clinic strategic plans and objectives based upon identified needs of claimants.
  • Maintain the strictest confidentiality.
  • Evaluate employee performance and recommend merit increases, promotions, and disciplinary actions.
  • Resolves problems in administrative and clinical areas.
  • Ensure staff is trained and operates in compliance with all government and other regulatory agencies.
  • Assist with rescheduling appointments as needed if support@mde4vets.com are not able to assist.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Medical Assistant with current state certification.
  • 2 years of supervisory or management experience in a health care setting.
  • Current Basic Life Support for Providers, by American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Performs all duties of a Medical Assistant per job description including Vitals, PFT, Venipuncture, EKG
  • Has excellent observation, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Highly organized and ability to work independently.
  • Ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds.
  • Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, electronic medical records, and ability to learn new applications easily.
  • Demonstrates ability to supervise and direct administrative personnel.
  • Has the ability to resolve conflict or just conflict resolution.
  • Assist with rescheduling appointments as needed if support@mde4vets.com are not able to assist.
  • Associate’s degree or 30+ undergraduate college credits preferred.

PAY: $61,068 annually.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The employee is frequently required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach forward with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift or move 50 lbs. The employee may be required to transfer and/or treat those who are wheelchair bound.
