Recruitment Manager
About me:
I was born in upstate New York but have been in Florida since grade school- I miss the snow but love the palm trees. I attended Florida State University for a bachelor's in Studio Art and a bachelor's in Art History. My next goal is to obtain an MBA to further my skills/knowledge in the management field. Besides drawing, one of my favorite pastimes is gardening- I have a patio garden growing steadily in Floridaās perfect plant weather. I am a pet mom to two cats, Little Kitty and Taz, and two dogs, Kona and Maui. The dogs and I love all things outdoors, especially kayaking and hiking, and our list of places to visit is growing every day.
What I love about recruitment:
The challenge- recruiting is like a puzzle; you must find the right candidate for the job and the right job for the candidate. I enjoyed learning how all these pieces fit together and applying that knowledge to help people find the perfect job for them. As I developed my knowledge/skills in recruiting, I realized how much I enjoyed teaching the ins/out to others and helping newer coworkers put together the puzzle- it was the enjoyment of helping my coworkers learn and grow that led me down the path to management.
Specialties:
When I started with Loyal Source I began on the Travel Healthcare division as a recruiter, staffing nurses and medical personnel in hospitals nationwide. As I gained a solid foundation/understanding in recruiting, I became a Team Lead, advising, training, and managing a small team of recruiters. As I found my groove as a team lead, I transitioned teams and am now working with our Government Healthcare division as a Recruitment Manager.
Fun facts:
We have what our friendās call a āpondā in our home- we have a large fish tank with Koi fish and our pet turtle, Murphy. We arenāt sure exactly how old he is, but we know Murphy is 15+ years as that is how long I have had him. He is a yellow-bellied slider who spends most of the day basking in the heat or begging for food⦠yes, you heard that right, the turtle begs as bad as the dogs do
