Area Manager

The Area Manager is responsible for oversight of all operations and administration of a network of medical clinics located in multiple states. The Area Manager is responsible for cultivating an environment that achieves the organization’s mission through quality in care, efficiency, and a focus on core values. The Clinic Manager will manage the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, and completion of contractual requirements with the end goal of delivering a quality experience for the client, provider and communities served. The Area Manager will report to the Clinic Operations Manager.
Pay: $115,000 a year
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervises, trains, develops, and evaluates Clinic Managers within the prescribed Area
- Ensures all clinics and clinic staff within the prescribed Area perform to contractual and LSGS-established performance standards
- Monitors clinic workload and staffing levels, directs adjustments to Examiner schedules, and recommends changes in clinic staffing levels to maximize clinic productivity and Examiner retention
- Ensures all assigned clinics are furnished, equipped, maintained, and operated in a manner which meets contractual obligations and maximizes the Veteran Experience
- Collaborates with and supports the Medical Director, clinical Leads, and Area Lead Physician to ensure medical professionals meet or exceed LSGS and client requirements
- Collaborates with the Capacity Manager to plan, resource, and execute Events and timeshare/temporary space use within the prescribed Area
- Supports the Clinic Support Manager with establishment of new Loyal Healthcare clinics within the prescribed Area
- Performs the hiring, training, and performance evaluations of Clinic Managers
- Performs daily approvals of Clinic Manager timekeeping, and monitors Clinic Managers’ oversight of timekeeping to ensure compliance with applicable laws and corporate policy
- Mentors and coaches employees for professional growth and development opportunities in skill, knowledge, and empowerment
- Ensures compliance with HIPAA, ADA and other Government statutes, rules, regulations.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure excellent quality, timeliness, and customer service throughout the entire claimant and customer experience
- Regularly inspects and audits assigned clinics to verify compliance with operational and safety standards (e.g., calibration, expired supplies, annual fire inspection, fridge temps, sharps disposal, equipment calibration, etc.)
- Functions as acting Clinic Manager at varying locations when required due to scheduled absences or turnover
- Areas are defined by VA Regional Office (VARO), and include all or part of specific States.
− North Area: Alaska, Idaho, Oregon, Montana, Washington
− Central Area: California (Oakland and Los Angeles VAROs), Hawaii, Nevada, Utah
− South Area: Arizona, New Mexico, California (San Diego VARO)
REQUIREMENTS
- Demonstrated ability to lead at the organizational level (leadership of subordinate leaders)
- Exceptional organizational skills to ensure that quality services are provided
- Exceptional interpersonal skills to facilitate relationships with corporate staff, Clinic Managers, physicians and other healthcare providers, Veterans, and the general public
- Demonstrated ability to assess, implement, and recommend improvements to complex processes, procedures, systems and information technology solutions
- Knowledge of procuring supplies, equipment, and staff needed at the clinic
- Proficiency in managing budgets, and negotiating with suppliers and vendors
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Possess and demonstrate skills necessary to analyze data and information
- Demonstrate a high standard of business ethics and integrity
- Proficient in all required software packages, platforms, and information systems, including Microsoft Office Suite, Salesforce, MDE4VETS, and SEMOSS
- Understanding of medical terminology
- Familiarity with healthcare industry best practices
- Knowledge of the requirements of HIPAA, ADA, and other relevant Government statutes, rules, and regulations.
- CPR certification required
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a healthcare related field or equivalent experience/combined education
- 5+ years of management or leadership experience in a healthcare setting
- Must be able to successfully pass National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) background investigation
- Reside within the prescribed Area
- Travel required within the prescribed Area (up to 50%)
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
- Master’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Public Administration, or a related field
- 2+ years of supervisory or management experience in a Loyal Healthcare clinic, or comparable recent experience with the MDE contract or other Loyal Source Government Services programs
- Reside within 50 miles of an existing Loyal Healthcare clinic in the prescribed Area, and within 50 miles of a major airport
